There is nowhere else in Prague I would rather work at. A dedicated, professional groups of teachers and administrators giving instruction of the highest quality. And fantastic professional development for teachers.

Not having attended any classes there, I cannot evaluate Akcent s a school. But I can evaluate it as an examination centre where I took CPE: I enjoyed the overall atmosphere; you can visit their café and have a cup of coffee (or a glass of beer, in my case) before your exam. The staff are always friendly and helpful and make the whole experience the more enjoyable, on site as well as in any email communication. I would certainly recommend it to anyone pondering their exam options. Thumbs up!

The school has been in existence since 1990 and it is a member of International House World Organization and EAQUALS and as such is regularly inspected. The results are available for those who would like to know. Another thing that shows our school´s commitment to providing a high level of language teaching and teacher training and development is that at least half of our teachers have been with us for a minimum of 8 years. Those who just travel the world and see teaching as a an easy way to fund this as opposed to a career usually find it difficult to cope. AKCENT IH Team

I really liked the experience I had in the two Akcent Summer Camps I’ve been to. They helped me a lot with developing my English communication skills and many others, my team spirit and I’ve made a lot of new friends! It was really fun and I would definetely recommend the Camp to others.

Horrible school. My daughter attended classes there and was very upset with the quality of teaching. Teacher Maria did not know grammar rules so had to check them on the Internet (!) when students asked questions. Another teacher, Jitka, was arrogant and unprofessional. The facilities are basic, old TVs in old classrooms. I do not recommend this school.

I work as an English teacher at AKCENT IH Prague, and have been since 2014 - in fact, I am about to embrace my third year at the school. Admittedly, the first few months were quite difficult for me as a new teacher. There was a lot to take on - a full-on schedule, a new city, a lot of new people... But it didn't take long at all for me to realise that this is a great place to work, especially for those who want to take the whole EFL thing seriously, and develop as a teacher (those not just using TEFL as a means to muck about for a few months in different places). The full-on schedule allowed me to quickly gain experience teaching all sorts of classes; perfect for a first time EFL teacher who has no idea whether they want to teach Business English or preschoolers; university students or diplomats. I've had the opportunity to try it all. The now-not-so-new city just keeps getting better and better! Two years on and I still get excited mooching about the streets of Prague. The new people. Sure, everyone says it, but it's true - we're a great team. It's a pretty big language school and there are so many people floating about in the staffroom that you never feel as though there's nowhere to turn to for support. Also, AKCENT is committed to continuing teacher development so there are frequent workshops, courses and observations on offer, all in the name of helping teachers improve. BONUS: Czech classes for English teachers!

I had a great experience with AKCENT language school. I took Spanish lessons there for several years, and three times I went to the AKCENT Summer Camp. The contact with the AKCENT was always very friendly and as a kid I enjoyed the summer camp very much. The morning English workshops were super engaging and did not feel as school (and yet I always came home a full skill level higher than when I left). To this day I have friends that I met in AKCENT.
