About Alterna club
Alterna je multižánrový hudební klub nepřetržitě fungující od počátku 90. let jako alternativa k mainstreamové hudební scéně. Podium kavárenské Alterny je spíše klasico-jazzové, undergroundová A2 stage je pak ideální místo pro progresivní kapely rozmanitých žánrů. Přes léto se živé koncerty za příznivého počasí odehrávají na venkovní OpenAir stage. Klub je otevřen celoročně jako místo pro setkání i zábavu ve specifické atmosféře studentského klubu.
Alterna - otevřený prostor v přízemí je koncipován spíše jako hudební kavárna. Zde naleznete klid na své myšlenky, odpolední schůzky nebo kreativní nápady. Pohodovou atmosféru udržuje kvalitní hudba a milá obsluha. A právě zde se konají vyhlášené jazzové koncerty a oblíbené pubquizy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a cosy place with moderately low prices, usually not too crowded (it is very spacy too). Visitors are mostly students living in a nearby dormitory. Some of the advertised drinks (White Russian for example) are not well prepared, but the servers are open to discussion on how you want your drink prepared - I was able to order Russian coffee which is not on the menu this way. Reservation via website are possible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cool place to hang out with young Czech crowd. It is right in the middle of Kounicova and VUT dormitories. The ambience and music here is chill, and sometimes there live performances. It is an inexpensive place because of university students. There is an ATM right outside and a supermarket across the street. Also A2 club is next door.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A place of great sentimental value for me. One of the first clubs when I started to go out as a teenager.
Almost all has changed since then.
Still the place stays and has an awesome bar staff and a good concert of some alternative or experimental music from time to time. It's a nice place still inducing a philosophical discussions or a nice safe haven when you just want to be alone amongst people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Weird music for weird people. ?? Some concerts are just tragic, others are great. Depends on your luck and personal preference. ? Service is ok. Nothing special... but they do speak English.

White wine was suprisingly good and sweet ( Tramin ), Tequila Sunrise was nice and strong. ? I can reccomend both of those.
