★ ★ ★ ★ ★ В северо-западной оконечности Соколовской площади расположен интересный историко-архитектурный объект, включенный в список культурного наследия Чехии - это так называемый Дом Аппельта. Был он построен строителями Яном Кунце и его сыном Карлом Кунце в 1793-1794 годах для торговца Антона Аппельта. Ранее на этом месте располагались два старых здания, которые пришлось полностью снести.
Дом Аппельта представляет из себя кирпичное, трехэтажное здание с мансардой, с характерными чертами классицизма и элементами стиля рококо.
Фасад дома богато украшен архитектурными элементами, тимпаном и профилированным фронтоном на крыше. После окончания строительства, на первом этаже разместились мастерские и магазины, на других этажах аппартаменты самих хозяев.
Однако, семейство Аппельтов недолго жило в новом доме. Из-за ухудшения экономической ситуации они вынуждены были его продать городу. Городские власти приняли решение разместить здесь среднюю школу. С этой целью на заднем дворе было пристроено трехэтажное крыло, в которых разместились девять классных комнат, кабинеты и санитарные помещения. Сам же Дом Аппетова был преобразован в офисы и квартиры второго класса для учителей пиаристов. Вот так с 1837 года здание стало использоваться в школьных целях.
И сегодня здесь размещается средняя школа.
 In the northwestern tip of Sokolov Square is an interesting historical and architectural object included in the list of the cultural heritage of the Czech Republic - the so-called House Appelt. It was built by the builders Jan Kunze and his son Karl Kunze in 1793-1794 for the merchant Anton Appelt. Earlier this place was located two old buildings that had to be completely demolished.
House Appelt is a brick, three-story building with an attic, with the characteristic features of classicism and elements of the Rococo style.
The facade of the house is richly decorated with architectural elements, a tympanum and a profiled pediment on the roof. After construction, workshops and shops were housed on the ground floor, and the apartments of the owners themselves were on the other floors.
However, the Appelt family did not live long in the new house. Due to the deteriorating economic situation, they were forced to sell it to the city. The city authorities decided to place a high school here. To this end, a three-story wing was attached to the backyard, which housed nine classrooms, classrooms and sanitary facilities. The House of Appetov himself was transformed into offices and second-class apartments for teachers of piarists. So, since 1837, the building was used for school purposes.
And today it houses a high school.
