Ok experience, though we were reading the comments right before 16:00, and so weren't ready for the glass marble that fell down for a kid to catch. Second best thing I did in Brno after getting a butterfly tattoo. Gets an extra star for the satisfying sound from the marble falling down, though.

Between Prague, Brno and olomouc I think this was the less impressive astronomical clock it might be my ignorance or lack of prior research but as an image it fails to impress.

This clock was built partly as a commemorative monument to the legend that led to the lifting of the siege of Brno. Legend has it that the besieging Swedish army intended to lift the siege if they had made no further progress by midday. As a trick, the residents of Brno range the midday bell one hour early. This clock commemorates the event by having a ball roll out at 11am everyday. It apparently also tells the time, which requires considerable instructions from the description. Too complicated if you just want to know the time. The whole thing is too complicated and not much to look at

See the attraction and get your photos but don't plan on spending a decade here. Definetley a cool experience to see while you're in Prague though!

Impossible to read clock with an interesting history. It chimes at 11am and people gather to grab a marble as it's released from the clock. In my experience that meant about 5 adults all surrounding the possible ejection holes a few minutes before 11. I'm not sure who got the marble, but everyone seemed disappointed. The locals even seemed to have a small argument.
