We, a couples with two bicycles and a small tent, wanted to Stay on the camping. They told is that there was no Palace at all. We wakker across the camp site and there were empty places. Still they refused is a place on the camping. We asked for An other place tot stay in the environment of the camping. Answer: Pilzen. Pilzen is more than 15 kilometers away! We found out ourselfes that there was a good hotel 4 miles further on the road. YOU DO NOT REFUSE A PLACE TO AN OLDER COUPLE (65 years old). And if there is really no place at all, you should help people to find another accomodation.

While on my way to Prague by bike I camped here beside the lake. During the night from 3 to 4. of September I have been robbed, while I was sleeping in my tent. My smartfone and money gone. The locationmanager would be back on the campsite not before 2 pm.

If you are used to campsites in France of Spain, like we are, you have to be prepared to adapt a little for this campsite. We stayed here for 2 nights. The reception is, wel, not for receiving people. We arrived at around 2 pm and it was closed. No one to be seen, no opening hours or whatsoever. Luckily the bar was open, so we were helped by the girl that worked there. Her English was good. She didn’t quite know where we could put the caravan, and asking for electricity was also a bit complicated. She called ‘the boss’, and he sort of kind of told her what to do. The boy who helped us with the electricity was also very young, he had to call ‘the boss’ repeatedly for help. We never saw this boss-character, by the way. The toilets and showers are in a rather old cabin by the road in the woods. There are no locks on the toiletdoors, and the showers simply have no doors. There is a showercurtain, that is actually more of nuissance and it doesn’t really provide privacy. We went showering in pairs: while I showered, my boyfriend held the curtain closed and vice versa. The showers itself are actually quite nice. So arriving was rather special, and so was leaving. The electricity-cabin was closed, so we needed someone from the campsite to open this before we could leave. Since the reception isn’t ever opened, we asked the girl in the bar from what time in the morning we could leave. She didn’t know, she would have to call ‘the boss’ to ask. Sadly ‘the boss’ was not available. This young lady really did her very best to help us out, but she just didn’t really know how everything worked. Apparently - after asking and waiting a lot - we found we could only leave at 10 am at the earliest. So we disconnected from the electricity in the evening, so we could leave a bit earlier. Pricewise: we payed 25 ckz for 2 days electricity, and 300 ckz for camping. That is 325 ckz for 2 nights, or 13 euro’s. The plus: the trainstation is a 10 minute walk. For 23 ckz per person you can get to Pilsen and back, a ride only takes 10 minutes. Zero-tolerance for intoxicated driving in mind, this comes very in handy. So, summarized: this campsite is very cheap, but well, you get what you pay. Toilets and showers are very very basic, the young people who seem to be in charge try their best, but they don’t really know how to organise a campsite. Luckily the girl who worked there did everything she could to help us out. Very close to Pilsen by train. A memorable campsite!
