Josef Theurer (20. listopadu 1862 Litomyšl – 7. září 1928 Příbram) byl český fyzik a matematik. Byl rovněž prvním českým rektorem Vysoké školy báňské v Příbrami, též nadšeným muzikologem a propagátorem díla Bedřicha Smetany. Roku 1895 nastoupil na místo prozatímního docenta matematiky a fyziky na příbramské báňské akademii. Zavedl tam přednášky z elektrotechniky a vybudoval základy elektrotechnického ústavu.
The bronze bust of Dr. J. Theurer was revealed on the square of the same name (Příbram II) in 2000. Josef Theurer (20th November 1862 Litomyšl - September 7, 1928 Příbram) was a Czech physicist and mathematician. He was also the first Czech rector of the Mining University in Příbram, also an enthusiastic musicologist and promoter of Bedřich Smetana's work. In 1895 he became a temporary associate professor of mathematics and physics at the Příbram Mining Academy. He introduced lectures on electrical engineering and built the foundations of the Electrotechnical Institute.
In 2000 dr. J. Theurer (Pribram II) revealed his bronze bust with the text: Prof. Dr. Josef Theurer (1862 - 1928). Josef Theurer (November 20, 1862 Litomyšl - September 7, 1928 in Příbram) was a Czech physicist and mathematician. He was also the first Czech rector of the Mining University in Příbram, also an enthusiastic musicologist and promoter of Bedřich Smetana's work. In 1895 he took the post of interim associate professor of mathematics and physics at the Mining Academy in Pribram. He introduced electrical engineering lectures and established the foundations of the electrotechnical institute.
