Доминиканский монастырь в Клатовах, частью которого являлся костел Святого Лоуренса, был построен на рубеже XVII и XVIII столетий на месте древнего храма, находящегося здесь с XIV го века. Строительством руководил итальянский архитектор Марко Антонио Гилметти. После реформ Иосифа, проводимых в 1786 году, монастырь был распущен. Его помещение купил город, и долгое время в нем размещался склад, от чего здание пришло в упадок. В 1866 году монастырь был отремонтирован и освящен под церковно-приходскую школу, которая существовала до прихода коммунистической власти. В 2007 году была завершена последняя реконструкция бывшего доминиканского монастыря и в его здании был создан региональный центр по социальной интеграции инвалидов и непрерывного обучения, который включает в себя детский сад и интернат для детей с ограниченными возможностями.

The Dominican Monastery in Klatovy, of which the Church of St. Lawrence was a part, was built at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries on the site of an ancient temple that has been here since the 14th century. The construction was supervised by the Italian architect Marco Antonio Gilmetti. After Joseph's reforms in 1786, the monastery was disbanded. Its premises were bought by the city, and for a long time it housed a warehouse, from which the building fell into decay. In 1866 the monastery was renovated and consecrated as a parish school, which existed before the coming of the communist government. In 2007, the last reconstruction of the former Dominican monastery was completed and a regional center for the social integration of disabled people and lifelong learning was created in its building, which includes a kindergarten and a boarding school for children with disabilities.
