The former Jewish prayer house was built in the years 1847-1848 in the late Classicist style as a replacement for the older wooden prayer house. The ground floor of the building was divided into two parts. In one was the prayer hall, in the other the teacher's apartment. Upstairs was a meeting hall for members of the Jewish community and school classrooms, which were abolished in 1896. Services were held here until World War II. After the war, the building got under the town´s administration and served from 1949 as a warehouse and later as a laundry. In 1995, it was returned to the use of the Prague Jewish community, which today leases it for commercial purposes as a shop and flats. There are three memorial plaques on the wall facing Přátelství Street - two in Czech and one in English, thanks to which you can learn more details about the history of the building.
