Čermákův jez je v současnosti oblíbenou destinací, zejména v letních měsících pro pejskaře a ty co se rádi courají okolo vody. Je to hezká procházka ze strany Vítkovic i z druhého břehu řeky.
 Čermák's weir was built in the 1940s as a solid weir across the Ostravice River to collect water for the needs of heavy industry. Čermákv weir is currently a popular destination, especially in the summer months for dogs and those who like to walk around the water. It is a nice walk from Vítkovice and from the other side of the river.
