★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Čestr is certainly one of the best steak restaurants in Prague. Due to the reconstruction of the entire building of the former Czechoslovak National Assembly, where the restaurant is located, it was closed from 1 March 2017 to 14 October 2020. The interior of the restaurant has changed mainly in layout. It seems that there are fewer unnecessary things taking up space and more room for tables. The style has remained unchanged and that's fine. Decorating with big jars full of canned or fermented fruit is a great idea. Yesterday was only my second visit since the reopening. Both times the food was perfect and the service was excellent. The starters are diverse; I can recommend the marinated carp. The meat selection for the steaks varies and is very tempting. On yesterday's visit, the Wagyu meat was on special offer. Dessert - scones with pears - didn't impress me much. The restrooms were a bit messy around the sinks, which spoiled the final impression of an otherwise perfect evening.

We had a dinner with three courses and all the food was great from starters to steaks done exactly as per our expectations. as I was driving I took new fancy translucent coke. Interesting one. But their Pilsner beer is definitely better choice if you can have it.

Very expensive restaurant in terms of steaks.
Not a big choice of non alcoholic drinks.
Atmosphere is nice.
Location is good, but hidden.
Buchty were not good. Very strange portion, Mix of strange tastes. Buchty were super small in a huge amount of “soup”, better to recreate this dessert option.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious meal. Steak tartare was to die for. We ordered the carp starter also, the shoulder beef dish in garlic sauce and hanger steak with potato rolls. Amazing food, great service and prices. Cool interior also. Recommend this place!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food, service, ambiance, location, atmosphere.. It’s really hard to find a fault to this restaurant! This must be why it’s so popular, make sure you reserve a place! The menu is constantly evolving and it’s one of the reasons I keep coming back! You won’t go wrong with whatever you pick and if you are between choices the hospitality team is there to greet and help you with a smile. If you ask me it’s a great place to visit and experience delightful meat focused dishes! You’ll thank me later!
