Chapel of Saint Anne

Basalt hill Vyskeř with the chapel of St. Anny is one of the symbols of the local region and is visible from many places in the Bohemian Paradise. The chapel was built above the Holy Sepulcher in the second half of the 17th century by the Hruboskal nobility, its current Empire appearance dates from 1830. In 1963 it was entered in the list of cultural monuments. In the immediate vicinity of the chapel there is a bench for tourists. From here there is a beautiful view of Ještěd, Trosky, Hruboskalsko, Kozákov, Tábor, Veliš, Brada, Přivýšina, the Prachovské skal massif, Mužský, but also Bezděz. From the foot behind the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the Stations of the Cross from 1825 leads to the top. It has fourteen stops in the form of sandstone columns with niches. In close proximity to the chapel there is a bench with a seating area and the possibility of beautiful views of the countryside - you can see Ještěd, Trosky castle ruin, Hruboskalsko, Kozákov, Tábor, Veliš, Brada, Přivýšina, the Prachov Rocks, Mužský , but also Bezděz castle. From the foot of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary leads to the summit of the Way of the Cross from 1825. It has fourteen stops in the form of sandstone pillars with niches.

A place with a beautiful view in all directions, about half a km from the parking lot in the village of Vyskeř, up a steep hill, it would probably not be possible with a pram. The chapel is closed, but you can see it. The very top of the hill and the surroundings of the chapel are visibly neglected, not maintained. And no promotion. We saw from the Ruins, searched in vain what it was, just found it on the map. I recommend to visit.

A spiritually strong place, beautifully situated in the landscape of the Bohemian Paradise.
