very unfriednly towards foreign student. Also very ineffective in adminstration process. It took me more than one week to get papers which I need, and the staff is not helpful at all. The staff is obviously on vacation .. Don't know why UK can't spend money to hire some more staff.... Very Sad and pity for the Czech university. Foreigners, be aware before you apply !

There are relatively negative experiences at the foreign department at the Faculty of Arts Charles University- especially with the coordinator for outgoing students Petra Benešovská. There is also the case of a student who was nominated for a British foreign university at the time of Brexit and the approach from abroad was not very supportive. Mrs. Benešovská refused to solve the situation of unsupported procedures and as the only solution she suggested that the student should not go anywhere. The student was already counting on leaving at that time and would be harmed. The coordinator for outgoing students had the student call other universities, saying that the student would go elsewhere. She promised to forward the nomination if the student arranges the transfer herself - a few months after closing all the nominations, the student really succeeded. The nomination was not forwarded in the end. There were further errors on the part of the coordinator, for example, she did not deliver the Erasmus nomination within the interinstitutional agreement to the current email in the contract and in the deadline specified in the contract, which was again addressed by the student, although does not belong to the student agenda. However Petra Benešovská used the student to do her own work duties. The communication of the coordinator for outgoing students Petra Benešovská is very problematic. Furthermore, the coordinator ignored questions about the Learning Agreement and then accused the student that the incomplete documentation is her fault, even if the student does not have the authority to complete the documentation and the coordinator Petra Benešosvká ignored suggestions to address the deficiency in the documentation. Shortly before departure of the student, the coordinator Petra Benešovská,received a complaint about incomplete documentation for the student's departure and suggested that the study be cancelled. She informed the student in question up to 1 day before leaving for one year of study, even though an agreement had been reached earlier. At that time, she ignored several emails from a departing student and then out of nowhere sent her information that her studies were cancelled because the student allegedly did not meet the "deadline for submitting the learning agreement." If we have the right information, then Charles University admitted a certain procedural error and offered compensation. However, who would like to get into a situation where he is preparing and enjoying half a year to study abroad and then receives an email 1 day before departure that the cancellation has taken place? The student received all contracts and funds from the EU. It is clear from the text of the participation agreement signed by the Vice-Rector that the Charles University was not entitled to cancel the study stay without first notifying the deficiencies in the documentation by registered letter and providing one month to rectify them. However, the coordinator of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University did not do anything, in order to explain the sudden cancellation of the stay, she argued by an exclusive decision of a foreign university. According to the USW, the cancellation was based on a "mutual agreement." The coordinators from the Faculty of Arts, Charles University accused the foreign coordinator of canceling the study purely on her part. This statement differs from the statement from the foreign institution - "We note that this decision was made by mutual agreement between XX and Charles University." They provided evidence from a foreign institution about their claim. See email "our University together with XXX decided to cancel her Erasmus + studystay. Mgr. Boumová, meaning of her own words denies, the words and allegedly communicates in the "diplomatic language." She might have done a huge damage in the trust of the signature of vice chancellor.Sylvie Boumova denied the meaning of her words and she bullyed the student further by restricting the access for study information for that student.

Spent 6 years, getting my degree here. The experience is phenomenal. You make friends for life and the diversity is incredible. Truly global. The student experience only gets better by the fact that the city is very safe and comparatively cheaper than other places in Europe. The university in itself is still catching up to the level of modernisation, you would find in the UK, Scandinavia or German universities but nonetheless, still good.
