Nádherný románský kostelíček ma pěkné návsi, vevnitř by neškodily nové lavice.
The beautiful Romanesque church has a nice village square, the new benches would not be damaged inside.

Původně románský kostel, a to jeden z nejstarších románských kostelů u nás. Moc toho ale vidět není.
Originally a Romanesque church, one of the oldest Romanesque churches in the country. But there is not much to see.

V roce 1905 v něm byly odkryty románské malby a v 70. letech minulého století zbytky terakotové dlažby. The Church of St. John the Baptist is at first glance medieval origin and since ancient times used to be the center of the village. It is a rectangular building with a semicircular apse in the east, built with classical Romanesque technique from carefully machined marl blocks placed in regular rows. The first church (from the 11th century) was also the tomb of a prominent person. In the mid-12th century, the Ostrov monastery had replaced the original building with a rotunda, which is 12,60 m in diameter, among the largest in the Czech Republic. Today's church is, according to archaeological surveys, the third of the same initiation in this place and comes from the last quarter of the 12th century, when it was built by a new owner of the village, the Strahov Monastery. Since 1352 the church was a parish. Romanesque paintings were uncovered in 1905 and remnants of terracotta tiles in the 1970s.

One of the oldest churches in our country, which stands in a beautiful place and has an amazing atmosphere. Excellent work and thus a big thank you to the Civic Association for the Protection of Monuments in Dolní Chabry (OSOP), which repairs the church and not only that. They organize various events where you will learn a lot, but you can also contribute to the repair of this beautiful church, a former pilgrimage site that will surely grab your heart ❤️

Beautiful small (used to be) Roman style church. There's a nice view over this part of Prague behind the church.
