The Gothic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Tuřany dates back to the 14th century. It was later rebuilt in Baroque style.

The first written mention of Tuřany comes from the year 1115, when the Kladruby monastery had goods here. In the second half of the 14th century, in addition to the ecclesiastical order, secular owners also appeared. The Gothic pilgrimage church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built in 1352 - it is also mentioned in connection with the activities of the Kladruby monastery and was already a parish at that time. The interior is decorated with a wooden love statue of the Virgin Mary of Tuřanská. It was remodeled in the Baroque style in the 18th century and then reconstructed at the end of the 20th century. The wooden bell tower in Tuřan, standing in the cemetery near the pilgrimage church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, was built in 1717. The construction of the bell tower was financed by the Smečen nobility. The first evidence of the purchase of material for the future bell tower dates from 1663, but evidence of its construction dates back to 1666. There are 4 bells hanging in the bell tower, the oldest of which dates from 1678. The bell tower is a protected cultural monument. The Tuřan wooden belfry, standing in the cemetery by the pilgrimage church, was built in 1717. The bell tower was financed by the Smečno authorities. The first documents on the purchase of the material on the future bell tower date back to 1663, but documents mentioning building itself dating from 1666. The bell tower hangs 4 bells, the oldest of which dates from 1678. It is a protected cultural monument.
