Stavba vznikala mezi lety 1929-32 (financována převážně z veřejné sbírky) a byla zamýšlena jako památník padlým vojákům v 1 sv. válce. Bohoslužby se tu konají každý den (3 dni v týdnu dokonce dvakrát) a je otevřen po celý den. Zajímavost: kostelní věž je stejně vysoká jako věž hlavního vlakového nádraží. The impressive reinforced concrete church of Bohunil Sláma, a master architect of functionalist architecture (the author of, among other things, the Czech Radio in Prague's Vinohrady) is an impressive dominant feature of the Square of October 28. The church was built between 1929-32 (mainly financed by the public collection) and was intended as a memorial to fallen soldiers in the 1st WW. Prayers here are every day (3 days a week even twice) and it´s open all day. Points of Interest: The church tower is as high as the main train station tower. Za návštěvu stojí i prohlídka sama - příjemná strohost, skvostné vyobrazení křížové cesty, nádherný Boží hrob, vše citlivě doplněno květinami. The temple of God's presence is the only one in the whole wide area open daily to a quiet stop, to meditation. The tour itself is also worth a visit - pleasant austerity, a magnificent depiction of the Stations of the Cross, a beautiful tomb of God, all sensitively complemented by flowers.
