A tiny church near my home.

It's my parish church. It is not even 100 years old and it was built by parishioners from Starý Lískovec at that time still a separate village. Before the Revolution, it was the only church in Brno that found itself in the center of the new Czechoslovak-Soviet Friendship settlement.

The Roman Catholic church in Slatina belonging to the parish Lisen is a building proportionally large Slatina. The church is situated at the crossroads to Šlapanice. The main and only ship part is built on the ground plan of the original cemetery chapel. The building is adjacent to the local cemetery in the presbytery. The church was consecrated in 1948. Its simplicity follows the architecture of the interwar avant-garde. The twelve narrow side windows ending in a circular sector resemble a figure with a head, referring to Christ's disciples. The interior decoration of the church is moderate. The church is dedicated to the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, so the presbytery area is dominated by the main altar with a gilded and silver wooden statue of Christ crucified. Behind the altar are three stained-glass windows, the left depicting the Virgin Mary, the right Saint John; The windows with cross refer to the moment when Jesus from the cross designates the Virgin Mary the Apostle John as a son. Two side altars with gilded wooden statues are mirrored at the cemetery chapel. Confessed beams on the ceiling and period patina of wood follows the bark made of the same material. In the 1990s, an oratorio with toilets, a scout clubhouse and a hall used to be used on the side of the Holy Mass mainly for mothers with smaller children. After Sunday mass, this area serves as a café to the parishioners where you can have coffee or tea or a small snack. There is a parking lot in front of the church, which is also used by people who go to the cemetery, so it is good to go in advance, the parking lot is often full.

Nice little church next to the cemetery. Except for the turbulent crossroads next to the church, nothing can be said about this place. Unfortunately, due to this busy road, it is even harder to drive.
