Rumburská vzpoura vypukla na nádvoří bývalé chlapecké školy v dnešní Tyršově ulici 21. 5. 1918. Je nedílnou součástí historie naší země. V Rumburku, stejně jako v Horním Jindřichově (od roku 1949 Rumburk II) a Dolních Křečanech (Rumburk III), je spjata s řadou konkrétních míst, která lze navštívit. Některá ze stanovišť stojí mimo tento základní okruh a jsou určena pro bezvýhradné milovníky vojenské historie, toužící po úplném poznání tématu.

Do náměstí je přízemí otevřeno třemi arkádami podloubí. Krásně zrekonstruované jsou i vedlejší domy severozápadní fronty náměstí (čp. 4-7). Rumburk je vůbec pro fanoušky architektury a historie moc zajímavým místem. Najdete tu takřka vše od vesnických podstávkových domů až po honosné vily vystavěné na přelomu 19. a 20. století, kdy se Rumburku přezdívalo Malá Paříž severu. Název byl spojován se stavebním rozmachem a čilým společenským životem města, v němž se v té době nacházely desítky restaurací, kaváren a vináren. Rumburk získal díky výstavným budovám téměř velkoměstský ráz ve stylu pozdního klasicismu, romantismu, novorenesance a secese. The well-equipped Rumburk Information Center is located on the ground floor of a row two-story house built in the second half of the 18th century. The square is ground floor open with three arcades at the ground floor. Beautifully renovated are the side houses of the northwest front of the square (No. 4-7). Rumburk is a very interesting place for fans of architecture and history. You can find here almost everything from village half-timbered houses to opulent villas built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, when Rumburk was nicknamed Little Paris of the North. The name was associated with the building boom and lively social life of the city, which at that time were dozens of restaurants, cafes and wine bars. Thanks to the exhibition buildings, Rumburk has gained almost urban character in the style of late Classicism, Romanticism, Neo-Renaissance and Art Nouveau.
