★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best museums. If possible let it be the first thing you do in Prague so you get a spherical view of how things have been going on.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very informative museum that shows how medieval prague developed during Charles IV's reign. It gives you a general impression of how the modern prague retained it's medieval glory. The staff at the 2nd floor was very accomodating. :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We want to recommend to everyone this place. There is an amazing exhibition about Prague in time of Charles the IV. and more... Interactive, fresh, educative, absolutely great. All descriptions are in Czech and also in English. To see it all and listen all comments is taking around 2 hours. Definitely go there if you like Prague. You will be suprised how great was Prague in medieval ages! It was a center of Holy Roman Empire with the biggest square. Charles the IV. was and impressive ruler with a "never-dying" ideas! Go and see!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing museum about the development or Prague City and lives of its inhabitants in the Charles IV era. Spent over 2 hours here and got fully lost in the interactive videos, light shows and audio that guide you through the museum. The staff were also really helpful and it only costs 80czk for under 26's - would completely recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very lovely museum! Well designed and was very interesting. It was recommend by our tour guide during the walking tour as lesser known museum in prague but a must visit one. The staff were older women who were so helpful and charming. The ground floor exhibition was like a place of a horror movie or a tim burton location, there were no english translations for the ground floor so i didnt really understand but the aesthetic and presentation was very good. The 1st floor and second floor were with english translations and headphones options, it really explained it detail how prague was designed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You will never look at Charles square the same way. I’ve found the museum very interesting and very engaging. Not at all a series of boring artefacts, but a lot of videos, models and projection, or a mix of the three. The name of the museum is confusing though as the main museum of the city of Prague is in Florenc and closed temporarily.
Whereas on the 1st floor was the main exhibition “In the footsteps of Charles IV,”, on the basement was also a very interesting exhibition about Jaroslav Foglar, a famous Czech writer for children and the exhibition was reconstituting the Prague streets and atmosphere described in his books. You also see references to comics Jan Fischer drew from his books. This exhibition, unlike the first one, isn’t English friendly but you can ask for the 2 printed sheets explaining the display.
