Haštala nestačí počtu žáků ve školním obvodu. Do nové budovy se nastěhovaly dvě školy. Škola obecná pro chlapce u sv. Kříže Většího a Škola obecná pro dívky u sv. Haštala. Neorenesanční stavba pochází z pera Bohdana Pudlače a Josefa Ressla z let 1892 - 93. Staveniště pro školu bylo získáno zbouráním bývalého gotického kláštera cyriaků s kostelem svatého Kříže Většího, založeného Přemyslem Otakarem II. v roce 1256. It was discovered that the general school at St. Haštal is not enough for the pupils in the school district. So the Council of the Royal City of Prague decided to build an object for a new school in 1893. Two schools were moved into the new building. School for boys at the Holy Cross of the Greater and the General School for Girls at St. Haštal church. The neo-renaissance building comes from the workshop of Bohdan Pudlač and Josef Ressl from 1892 to 93. The building site for the school was acquired by the demolition of the former Gothic monastery of Cyriacs with the Church of the Holy Cross of the Greater, founded by king Přemysl Otakar II. in 1256. The exhibition of the building where the school is located today was decided by the Council of the Royal Capital City of Prague in 1893, after it was discovered that the primary school at St. Haštala is not enough for the number of pupils in the school district. Two schools moved into the new building. General school for boys at St. Kříže Většího and General School for Girls at St. Hastala.
