The Renaissance Malthouse in Masarykova Street is a unique building, which according to the survey was built in the years 1573-1574. The building served as a municipal malting plant until the 1970s, when the malting operation in the house was terminated after 200 years. In 1801, the building was sold and adapted into a residential house. In 1953, the house fell to the state and has since fallen into disrepair. It was only in 2010 that a complete building renovation took place. Today, the malt house offers an information office on the ground floor with the sale of souvenirs and public internet with online information about Žatec.
