Byl až do svého zániku nejmohutnějším dubem České republiky. Dub definitivně zanikl zřejmě na konci 90. let 20. století, roku 1999 byla ukončena ochrana stromu.
Býval označovaný jako nejkrásnější dub v Čechách. Už deset let však nežije a v posledních letech mu z koruny moc nezbývalo. Přesné datum zániku stromu není uváděno, odumírání bylo postupné a pravděpodobně bylo jednou z příčin i nevhodné ošetření stromu. Minimálně do roku 2004 bylo torzo kmene ovětvené, v období mezi lety 2004 a 2009 byly větve z důvodu bezpečnosti odstraněny.
Memorable tree.
Until its demise, it was the largest oak in the Czech Republic. The oak definitely disappeared probably at the end of the 1990s, in 1999 the protection of the tree was terminated.
It used to be called the most beautiful oak in Bohemia. However, he has not lived for ten years and in recent years he has not had much left of the crown. The exact date of the extinction of the tree is not stated, the death was gradual and probably one of the causes was the inappropriate treatment of the tree. At least until 2004, the torso of the trunk was branched, in the period between 2004 and 2009 the branches were removed for safety reasons.
