The Čáslav grammar school is the oldest Čáslav secondary school with more than a century of tradition. The first class of the general grammar school for 70 pupils (for the time being in the burgher school building on the main square) was opened on 15 September 1880. Within a year, a new one-storey building in the Classicist style was completed and opened on the site of today's grammar school. The newly rebuilt and expanded building, increased by one floor according to the design of the city builder Josef Skřivánek, was handed over for use in 1928.
