The tour of the cellars was the highlight of our Czech-German trip to Litoměřice. Many thanks to the great guide, who managed the tour in German to excellent. ? Refreshments in the cellar also great, thank you very much.

The underground of Litoměřice is interwoven with a network of corridors reaching a length of 3 kilometers, some cellars even occupy up to three floors. So far, over 300 meters are accessible, and the lapidary of the regional museum is located on them. The underground corridors also pass directly below one of the largest squares in Bohemia, the almost two-hectare Peace Square, in the Middle Ages the commercial center of the town with meat shops and bakeries. Originally, the underground corridors were several kilometers long, connecting churches and monasteries in Litoměřice and leading to the surrounding area. The town hall cellar was opened in the spring of 1993 in the historic cellar house No. 21 on Mírové náměstí in Litoměřice. In the core, it is a Renaissance house with a Baroque layered volute gable. Baroque rebuilt at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. In 1975, a tour of part of the historic cellars under this and the surrounding houses towards Michalská Street was opened from here.
