Historic building that attracts at first sight. Although it looks slightly shabby on the outside, our room was more than expected. The receptionist was also wonderful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Výborné ubytování, čisté a útulné pokoje, vstřícný personál. Bohaté snídaně formou švédských stolů. Naprostá spokojenost. Pokud znovu ubytování v Semilech, tak v Hotelu Obecní dům :)
Excellent accommodation, clean and cozy rooms, helpful staff. Rich breakfast buffet. Absolute satisfaction. If again accommodation in Semily, then in the Hotel Obecní dům :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Velmi dobrý poměr výkon versus cena, pokoj s příslušenstvím byl čistý, dobře členěný, vybavení je obyčejnější, ale funkční a fungující, oceňuji nový výtah, genius loci historické budovy i sympatickou recepční, využili jsme i snídani a vše v pořádku, cellově klidné a příjemné
Very good performance versus price, the room with accessories was clean, well structured, the equipment is more common but functional and functional, I appreciate the new elevator, the genius loci of the historic building and the friendly receptionist, we also used breakfast and everything was fine, overall quiet and pleasant

Booked online and arrived at the property after official check-in hours. The door was locked, so I called the number of Jana Jiraskova, displayed on the window. She was home and sounded tired, but promised to come in 5mins. I was grateful.
Then 20mins passed and no one came, I called again. And she SWITCHED OFF HER PHONE. She never bothered to show up and help in any way.
Jana did this, well knowing there would be no other hotel available at that hour and that it was -8C outside!
This is the most despicable and indecent behaviour I have ever encountered anywhere.
They could have declined the booking, left the key in the deposit box or send a message to coordinate, instead they just did not bother to do anything. Lowest level of professionalism and human decency I have seen in a long time!

On their reply: not surprising that there is no apology and just an attempt to deflect the mistake. Not sure how you tried to contact me, but it comes down to this: You Do Not switch off the phone when someone is waiting in the cold for you. That, dear Jana, is just basic human decency.
