Hvězdárna se vybudovala roku 1959 z původního zahradního altánku a fungovala do roku 1987, kdy pak bezmála dvacet let chátrala.
Dalekohledy pozorovali především planety Jupiter a Saturn, Měsíc, ale také vzdálené galaxie, hvězdokupy, mlhoviny a dvojhvězdy. S novým vybavením je možno pozorovat také Slunce.

The observatory was built in 1959 from the original garden pavilion and operated until 1987, when it fell into disrepair for almost twenty years.
Telescopes have observed mainly the planets Jupiter and Saturn, the Moon, but also distant galaxies, star clusters, nebulae and binary stars. With the new equipment, it is also possible to observe the Sun.
