The Classicist building of the Jedlička´s Institute was built in 1913 for physically handicapped children, which parents could not or did not want to care for. The object was modified and expanded several times. The building of the Institute was built on the site of one of seven massive Gothic towers, which was replaced in the 17th century by a small house on the site of today's building in the middle of the courtyard. An interesting feature of this building is its connection to the baroque fortifications on the left side and a short section of the original Gothic wall on the right. The wall was lowered and battlements replaced in the Baroque loopholes. Three escape gates led from the Gothic castle that stood at Vyšehrad. One of them is visible at the rear wing of this building and can be seen from the left side of Leopold's Gate. Klasicistní budova Jedličkova ústavu byla zbudována v roce 1913 pro tělesně postižené děti, o které se rodiče nemohli, nebo nechtěli starat. Objekt byl vícekrát upravován a rozšiřován. Budova ústavu byla zbudována na místě jedné ze sedmi mohutných gotických věží, kterou v 17. století nahradil malý dům na místě dnešního stavení uprostřed dvora. Zajímavostí této budovy je její napojení na barokní opevnění na levé straně a na krátký úsek původní gotické hradby na pravé. Tato hradba byla ale snížena a cimbuří nahrazeno v baroku střílnami. Z gotického hradu, který stál na Vyšehradě vedly tři únikové branky. Právě jedna z nich je patrná u zadního traktu této budovy a spatřit ji lze z levé strany Leopoldovy brány.
