The mills are documented in the 14th century, at least four were in the Middle Ages. The Režná and Šejdovna mills have been preserved at the city walls, the Hasák or Hasačert mill on the opposite bank. In the second half of the 19th century, it was gradually owned by three leading industrialists in the country - František Hýra, Matěj Valter and František Jirásek. The neo-renaissance area at the bridge over the Ohře River belongs to the Jirásek Mills, built here in 1895 after the original mills in 1890 were destroyed by fire. In 1948 they were nationalized, after 1989 they were restituted and the descendants of the original owners continues in the tradition.
