The mills are documented as early as the 14th century, in the Middle Ages there were at least four. The Režná and Šejdovna mills have been preserved near the city walls, and the Hasák or Hasačert mill on the opposite bank. In the second half of the 19th century, they were gradually owned by the three most important Louny industrialists - František Hýra, Matěj Valtera and František Jirásek. The Neo-Renaissance complex by the bridge over the river Ohře belongs to the Jirásek Mills, built here in 1895 after the original mills were destroyed by fire in 1890. They were nationalized in 1948, restituted after 1989, and the descendant of the original owners continues the tradition here.
