★ ★ ★ ★ ★ První písemná zmínka o obci Ježená (Jezina) pochází z roku 1226, kdy ve své listině papež Horonius potvrzuje, že ves je ve vlastnictví Želivského kláštera. V roce 1233 je Jezina jmenována v listině Václava l. Původně česká ves byla obsazena ve 13. století německými kolonisty, havíři, kteří přišli v době “stříbrné horečky“. Zbytky šachet ze 40. let 13. století jsou dodnes k vidění v lesích u obce. Kdy vznikla první kaple v obci, není doloženo. Současná kaple sv. Jakuba stojí na návsi od roku 1775. Kaple je čtyřboká, se zvoničkou na vrcholu jehlancové střechy. Její barokní charakter je setřen pozdějšími necitlivými úpravami. Původní zvonek z roku 1782 byl v první světové válce zrekvírován, dnešní zvonek je z roku 1922.
 The first written mention of Jezena (Jezina) comes from 1226, when Pope Horonius confirms in his letter that the village is owned by the Želiv Monastery. In 1233, Jezina was named in the letter of Václav I. The original Czech village was occupied in the 13th century by the German colonists, the miners who came in the time of the "silver fever". Remnants of shafts from the 1940s are still visible in the woods near the village. When the first chapel was established in the village, it is not documented. The present chapel of St. Jacob stands on the village square since 1775. The chapel is quadruple, with a bell tower on top of the pyramidal roof. Its Baroque character is wiped out by later insensitive modifications. The original bell from 1782 was rebuilt in the First World War, today's bell is from 1922.
