★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Důvodem, proč jsem se vydal na letiště Karlovy Vary, byla socha Ruského kosmonauta Jurije Gagarina. Dříve tato socha stávala před budovou Vřídla a nejsem si úplně jistý, jestli se Vřídlu neříkalo Gagarinův pramen. Jinak budova letiště je moderní, zajímavě řešená hala, s galerií. Uvnitř najdete památník, připomínající tragickou smrt št. kap. Františka Malkovského. Stojí za návštěvu.
 The reason why I went to Karlovy Vary Airport was the statue of the Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. This statue used to stand in front of the Hot Spring building, and I'm not entirely sure if the Hot Spring was not called Gagarin's Spring. Otherwise, the airport building is a modern, interestingly designed hall, with a gallery. Inside you will find a monument commemorating the tragic death of St. chap. František Malkovský. Worth a visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No online check in is available at this airport. Tiny small parking, although they service about three flights a day, and the entire airport is empty. Took few extra minutes to park, and ran into a big problem. We arrived at the booth literally a minute after they closed the registration, although the flight’s departure was delayed at the same time for another few minutes. For the next 50 minutes the entire airport staff literally did nothing to let us on the flight.
They lied that plane’s door is closed and they can’t do anything about it. I went out and took attached picture 10 minutes later. I’ve had a few wrinkles in airports across the world, some in the US where I live the past decade, and each and every time staff tried hard to help and accommodate.
Here I was told that I shouldn’t assume I can just arrive last minute and get on the flight. And that was almost an hour before the plane took off! Angry racist little people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small and cool airport. It takes 100 meters from the entry of the airport to the plane. No shops, just one bar (but there is a nice restaurant in about one km from there).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Karlovy Vary is a great airport for any pilot’s first controlled airport landing. The sureounding view is just gorgeous, the runway is in good shape and the ATCs are pilot-friendly. Only good experience from here.
