★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Když v roce 1674 lehl popelem po velkém požáru celý hospodářký dvůr kláštera v Rajhradě, proto za provizorní sýpky musely být využity rozlehlé půdy benediktýnského kláštera. Na počátku 18. století zúročila rozumná šetrnost a prozíravá hospodárnost rajhradských benediktýnů, že mohlo být v roce 1721 započato s kompletní přestavbou celého kláštera. A tak velkou nutností bylo urychlené řešení výstavby nové sýpky. Ta byla postavena podle projektu Jana Santiniho v roce 1717 jako samostatná budova mimo hospodářský dvůr a dál od obce. A tak do dnešních dnů je klášterní sýpka v Rajhradicích s kamenným erbem rajhradských benediktýnů nad vstupním portálem nepřehlédnutelnou dominantou obce.
 When the whole farm yard of Rajhrad was burnt down in 1674 after a great fire, the large grounds of the Benedictine monastery had to be used for temporary granaries. At the beginning of the 18th century, the rational and prudent economy of Rajhrad Benedictines took advantage of the fact that the entire reconstruction of the whole monastery could be started in 1721. So a great necessity was an urgent solution to the construction of a new granary. It was built according to the project of Jan Santini in 1717 as a separate building outside the farm yard and away from the village. So to this day the monastery granary in Rajhradice with the stone coat of arms of Rajhrad Benedictines above the entrance portal is an unmistakable landmark of the village.
