Pěkný je i celkový pohled na budovy zvenčí díky velkému počtu věžiček. Samotný kostel, jehož projekt si vzal za vzor patrně dílo jednoho z nejtalentovanějších architektů své doby, Jana Santiniho, se podařilo dokončit již v roce 1714. Postupně ke kostelu přibyly ještě ambity a kaple, až vznikl neobyčejně působivý stavební soubor s půdorysem přibližně ve tvaru dvojitého kříže. V kostele najdeme doložené patronicium (zasvěcení kostela na svátek Nanebevzetí Panny Marie) z roku 1389. Jde o jednu z nejcennějších kulturních a historických památek širokého okolí.
