★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Z Łąk pochodzi prawie cala moja rodzina. Ja sam jako dziecko przyjeżdżałem z drugiej strony granicy, najczęściej na uroczystosci rodzinne. Sylwestra, wesela lub pogrzeby. Razem z rodzicami i rodzeństwem uczestniczyłem właśnie w tym kosciele na mszach świętych. Kościoł pod pod wezwaniem św. Barbary jest blizniaczą budowlą Kościoła w Strumieniu (za Skoczowem) ktory takze jest pod wezwaniem św. Barbary. Tutaj znajdował sie jeszcze supermarket, gospoda, ktora niegdyś prowadzona byla przez moją, rodzinę a także mała stacja kolejowa. Tutaj przechodzilo stare drogowe polaczenie z Cieszyna do Karwiny. Przez caly czas mam w pamieci wyglad tamtej miejscowosci. Po jej likwidacji umarła także cząstka mnie.
Almost all my family comes from Łąki. As a child, I used to come from the other side of the border, mostly for family celebrations. New Years Eve, weddings or funerals. Together with my parents and siblings, I attended Holy Mass in this church. Church of St. Barbara is a twin church building in Strumień (beyond Skoczów), which is also dedicated to St. Barbara. There was also a supermarket here, an inn that was once run by my family and a small train station. The old road connection from Cieszyn to Karviná passed here. All the time I remember the appearance of that town. After its liquidation, a part of me also died.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chrám příznačně zasvěcený patronce havířů, s hezkou loukou za sebou. Vstup dovnitř je přísně zakázaný. Při pohledu na rozbité vitráže v oknech mi bylo smutno, ale i to je doklad historie, jakou krajina kolem Karviné prošla.
The temple is characteristically dedicated to the patron saint of miners, with a nice meadow behind it. Entry is strictly forbidden. I was sad to see the broken stained glass in the windows, but even that is proof of the history of the landscape around Karviná.
