Karel Jaromír Erben ve své Svatební košili nepopisuje nějaký neurčitý kostel, ale právě tento Velhartický. Zde totiž je pověst, která se stala Erbenovi inspirací pro napsání této hororové balady. Místo i dnes vypadá tak jak za Erbenovo doby. Zvláště interiér kostela. A to nejlepší na závěr... roku 2014 jsme zde prováděli výzkum paranormálních jevů s cílem tyto jevy zde vyvrátit. Stal se ale opak a my je poté, co na nás začaly uvnitř kostela okolo 3:33 ráno lítat kamínky - oblázky od kůru, kde nikdo nebyl, toto místo zařadili do objektivních strašidelných míst u nás. Energeticky silnější pole jsem cítila z druhé strany kostelíka - u kříže s Kristem a Máří. Ke kostelíku se jde příjemnou procházkou březnovou álejí. Na začátku áleje po pravé straně si můžete všimnout bývalého katova domku a šibeničního vrchu. A small church with a cemetery.
