Den äldsta delen av kyrkan är från 1200-talet, det sägs att den byggdes på platsen för ett tidigare hednisk offer eller gravplats och att bosättningen ursprungligen kallades Velká Hůrka. The oldest part of the church is from the 13th century, it is said that it was built on the site of a former pagan sacrifice or burial ground and that the settlement was originally called Velká Hůrka. The rectory is also from the 13th century. The church was rebuilt in the 18th century. Further reconstruction was carried out at the end of the 19th century.
There is a tomb for the knight Malovce from Malovice in the church
