D	Derek Pendrey on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hotel receptionist recommended Kozlovna to me as it was close to the hotel Ambience in the New Town. She said the food and beer were both very good, so I gave the restaurant a try - and I agree with her. On arrival around 6.30 p.m. the restaurant was already very busy, almost full - but I got a seat at a small table for 2 on the pavement outside the patio. The printed menu was much as you might expect - although I thought I could order a dish from the menu of the day written on a board, but this didn’t seem to be the case - and my Czech wasn’t good enough to ascertain why! The waiter may have misunderstood. Anyway I got the standard printed menu and chose a chicken burger with trimmings. The chicken burger was packed with spicy mayo (so watch out for splodge on your clothes!), plus crispy bacon, rocket, lettuce and 3 slices of tomato. There was a good-sized portion of French fries. Chicken was well cooked but not too dry. See the picture. Along with a large beer and two glasses of wine the bill was @ 450 Czech Krona - approximately £15. Service was OK despite the slight misunderstanding concerning the menu of the day. There was a patio half open to the street, plus a few tables on the pavement, so it was quite good for people-watching. I’d happily eat there again.

Based on Google Maps ratings we picked the Kozlovna Tylák. And at the very first impression we were a bit disappointed with a approach from waiters, who didn't seem to care to come over to us and offer some drinks and collect our orders. But ok, eventually after a few minutes of waiting, we placed the order and got our drinks. But then another surprise. The waiter couldn't speak English. At least he didn't say a word in English once we tried to switch from Polish to English. He did continue to speak Czech. But ok, we Poles were able to make ourselves be understood. ??????? Once our food arrived, we could finally get our big appetite decreased. ? And all we had today (traditional Czech fried cheese with fries, pork tenderloins with zucchini, chicken with fried potatoes) was really very tasty and well cooked. ?????? So must say this not best opening impression hopefully was fully covered by a good food taste and great Kozlak beer.????

Our waiter was courteous and spoke good English. For the quality of the food and beer, the price was amazing for our family of 5. Will definitely be recommending to friends!
