Beautiful, yet it was not destroyed in 1918 "patriots" as in Prague.

Sochy sv. Bartoloměje, sv. Rocha, sv. Floriána, sv. Václava a sv. Rosálie doplnily další tři – socha sv. Františka Xaverského, sv. Petra z Alkantary a sv. Barbory. Sloup je zakončen gotickou plastikou plzeňské Madony. Byl rekonstruován v 90. letech 20. století. Je chráněn jako kulturní památka České republiky. The Renaissance Marian column on the Republic Square was set up by the city council in 1681. The decision to build a column fell in 1680 after the first major Pilsen plague epidemic was deflected, during which the famous emperor Rudolf II moved to the city from Prague. The foundation stone was laid in November 1680 by the Archdeacon Jan Alexus Čapek, the work was done by the stonemason Jan Mejlík and the sculptor Kristian Widman. The column completed in 1681 was expanded in 1714 after another epidemic. To already existing tatues of St. Bartholomew, St. Roch, St. Floriána, St. Wenceslas and St. Rosalie three more were added - the statue of St. František Xaverský, sv. Petr of Alkantara and St. Barbora. The column is finished with a Gothic sculpture of the Pilsen Madonna. It was reconstructed in the 1990s. It is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
