Spojení s označením Immaculata, doslovný překlad neposkvrněná, označuje určité ustálené barokní zobrazení Panny Marie se sepjatýma rukama, která stojí na zeměkouli a nohou drtí ďábla v podobě hada s jablkem v ústech, který má zeměkouli obtočenou svým tělem. Tím je alegoricky znázorněn prvotní a dědičný hřích v podobě hada, který k němu v ráji svedl Evu jablkem utrženým ze zapovězeného stromu. Ježíš Kristus, který se má neposkvrněné Panně Marii narodit, pak skrze své utrpení a smrt z lidstva tento dědičný hřích snímá.
