Maji i docela nove vydane knihy. Doporucuji tuto knihovnu!
The library is very well stocked as far as the title is concerned - I must say that even in comparison with Prague it is better! Almost everywhere I find what I need, in Prague always have at least half of the half-empty, half empty shelves. I am excited about the domestic selection of personal development oriented titles. They have quite recently published books. Moreover, the atmosphere in the Domazlice library is always unique, pleasant, I feel welcome there, to which the librarians contribute a great deal. Any later return charges are wallet-friendly. I recommend this library!

At the intersection of the first and second half of the 19th century cultural life began to develop in Domažlice, thanks to the efforts of advanced citizens. April 20, 1845, first readership called "Slovanská lípa" was founded, in the first year they had 62 books. The beginning of the library is connected with the name of Božena Němcová, who moved to the city in September 1845. She organized books commissioning in Prague, also a meeting of women and girls, read Czech books, played theater, organized literary academies, concerts. After the suppression of the Revolution of 1848, the association was stopped. The revival occurs only after the fall of Bach's absolutism. In 1890, it was proposed to establish a public public library, which was then officially opened on February 3, 1895. After 1915 it was renamed as the Hus´ Municipal Library. Since 1939 the library has been given to use a separate building next to the monastery, originally a church grammar school.

A beautiful historical place, only Google sends people to another address to the Gymnasium. Simply drive to the parking lot to Kaufland and the entrance of the old brewery !!
