★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nádherná budova v zoufalém stavu. Dnes zakrývají dělníci přízemní okna osb deskami. :'(
Beautiful building in desperate condition. Today, workers cover the ground floor windows with OSB. : '(

I worked at the Telegraph Center on the last floor in Jindrisska in 1967 after the military service and I recall here in Namibia all ten of my co-workers and a colleague, a perfect bunch! 21 August 68 our beaters drove us with the switchboards so I left the Republic!

The magnificent building of the International Telephone and Telegraph Central Station was the dominant feature of Zizkov, not only for its impressive appearance, especially for its towering towers and sculptures above the entrances. The building was built in 1922-1925 under the supervision of architect Bohumír Kozák, among others the author of Thomayer's Hospital. Sculptures were created by Ladislav Kofránek. In addition to the international switchboard, which operated here until 1979, the post office was also home. Since 2010, the building is empty and hopefully it will not be perishable because it is a wonderful example of the Republican national decorativism. On the wall of the building there is a memorial to the victims of the Second World War.

Její dvě věže i další typické prvky výzdoby spadají do období českého národního dekorativismu.
The majestic telephone and telegraph building in Zizkov lost nothing of it´s majesty even after it was surpassed more than three times by the tower of Žižkov's transmitter. It was built between 1922-1925 under the guidance of architect Bohumír Kozák. It´s two towers and other typical elements of decoration fall into the period of Czech national decorativism. The ceremonial opening took place on 19 June 1927. More than one hundred and twenty inter-city and international lines were connected to the newly established switchboard, and a total of three hundred and fifty people were employed here.
