Voted by patients as the best hospital in the country (2017) and deservedly so. I can't believe this hospital is so underused by the general public and everyone goes to Homolka or Motol. This hospital is amazingly organized and super clean, everything is in its own place, no "acceptable level" of chaos like in the other hospitals around here. Plus it's much less busy, so it is quiet and peaceful, with more attention given to you by the staff than elsewhere. Some people here mention that most staff doesn't speak English, I found this not to be true, majority of doctors speak English, nurses mostly don't, but there's always someone nearby who can help out. Amazing level of service - want your own room, ok, want special diet, ok we send nutrition specialist, he will be here in an hour... Want something else, done... I don't know why you'd want to go anywhere else.

Can only recommend it! Went there on a Sunday, emergency reception nurse spoke really good English and directly send me to the right department for examination. The Nordsee there didn’t speak English but was really friendly and didn’t mind us using Google translate. The doctors didn’t even take 10min to arrive, was fluent in English, explained every step and made sure I have no unanswered questions. Also the facility looked way better than in other Czech hospitals I’ve been to. Would definitely go there again.

Very friendly and helpful doctors and nurses! It was not a problem to get treated even though I only spoke English.

Saved my life in summer 2021, super thankfull. Had my brain operated by the great neurosurgeon MUDr. Milan Mohapl, Ph.D. Very professional staff, modern equipment, I felt very calm and confident when I was there. I was afraid of doctors, but after my surgery and recovery in UVN - not anymore. They are angels.

Terrible hospital. Been here several times and never had a good experience. Motol is way better, told my doctor to not schedule any other appointments here.

Vojenska Nemocnice, it one of the best hospitals in the Czech Republic. If you translate the hospital name into English, you would simply call it the Military hospital. The hospital staffed with military personal and has one of the best mobile military hospitals in the world. This being said, the medical staff is used to work under tremeneeous stress, working in high risk zones such as Irak and Afghanistan. This type of training means that the hospital specializes in treating a wide range of trauma patients. My wife broke her collar bone last year and the medical staff did a exceptional job in surgery and the skin was stitched in such a way that any plastic surgeon would be proud. On the downside, my wife mentioned that in the recovery phase, the staff was understaffed and somewhat strained. In any event, I highly recommend this hospital.

Attended for an MRI, not being a Czech speaker had no problems getting assistance to find the correct department. Appointment was in time exactly, English speaking consultant explained procedures in English and made it a very easy experience.

In my opinion this hospital is the closest thing to being in the US...except everyone speaks Czech. The care, cleanliness and very modern facilities were top notch during my stay in the ORL section (ENT). Reserve your "nadstandardni" room ahead of time and don't forget you may also request "nadstandardni stravovani" as well. Nadstandardni means "above standard" not just for a room but also food. Charges are per day and due at time of being released to go home. Check the UVN website for current price lists. The above standard room included refrigerator/freezer, electric kettle, private bathroom, TV and some rooms are maximum 2 people. Free internet throughout the complex although video calls and internet calling (skype, whatsapp)did not work on their network. No problem with streaming entertainment, however (Youtube, Netflix, etc). Although no visitors are allowed during covid, you may be lucky and get permission to visit the canteen to purchase food or drink. Staff do speak English although they may have to search for a speaker, your questions or concerns will always be attended to. Perfect accommodations and personnel to help get you healthy and on your feet again. Thank you, UVN and ORL dept in Bldg A!
