Cozy square, there is a mini park for sitting, covered waiting rooms for public transport and a wide range of shops.

The square was once a park and market, which was abolished in 1960. Until then, cars were touring the square, there was only a diagonal tram track as we know it today. The most important local building is the Neo-Renaissance building of the Nuselský National House (from the second half of the 19th century) with a bust of Havlíčková and the emblem of the Czech Kingdom, statues of Přemysl, Libuše and Sv. Wenceslas in the facade. The square was originally called Metodějovo, later Riegrovo (a bust of František Ladislav Rieger is located on one of the corner houses no. 363). Since the 1950s, the square has been named after Czech communist journalists and politicians, siblings Otto and Viktor Synek, who were executed by the Nazis during the German occupation during World War II.
