Po návštěvě ani nevím proč, paní byli milé, a to i přesto že jsem přišel 5 minut před koncem pracovní doby. I went to check the signature, and a lot of people warned me they ate else. After the visit I do not know why, Mrs. were nice, even though I came 5 minutes before the end of working hours.

Nejstarší dochovanou zmínkou o Ořechu je záznam v darovací listině knížete Boleslava II. z roku 993, díky které připadla ves břevnovskému klášteru. Druhým dochovaným záznamem je dokončení stavby kostela Stětí svatého Jana Křtitele z roku 1352. Hezky upravené náměstí bylo pojmenováno na počest spisovatele J. Š. Baara, který tu mezi lety 1895—1897 a 1909—1919 působil jako farář. Pomník padlým vojákům ve spodní části náměstí byl vztyčen a slavnostně odhalen na podzim roku 1923. Po druhé světové válce byla pod něj přidána další deska padlých. Dnes v obci žije kolem tisícovky obyvatel. The surroundings of the village have been inhabited since prehistoric times, as evidenced by research on the settlement buildings of the Knovíz culture (1200-800 BC). The oldest surviving mention of the village is an entry in the deed of gift of Prince Boleslav II. from the year 993, thanks to which the village belonged to the Břevnov monastery. The second surviving record is the completion of the construction of the Church of St. John the Baptist from 1352. The nicely landscaped square was named in honor of the writer Jindřich Šimon Baar, who worked here as a pastor between 1895—1897 and 1909—1919. A monument to fallen soldiers at the bottom of the square was erected and ceremoniously unveiled in the autumn of 1923. After World War II, another plaque of the fallen was added below it. Today the village has about a thousand inhabitants. The surroundings of the village have been inhabited since prehistoric times, as evidenced by research on the settlement buildings of the Knovíz culture (1200–800 BC).
