★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's an OK train station. It has the usual collection of overpriced fast food places, a convenience store, news agent and a drug store. There's no tourist information at the station and you need to head into town if you are wondering where to go. It's best to hop on one of the trams to the town or walk for about 15 to 20 minutes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I want to love this station. Olomouc is a great city, and I love the old socialist realist artwork the station has to offer.
Problem is: the station is just too small. No two ways about it. In the main hall where you end up waiting until five minutes before your train arrives because they haven't announced your platform yet, there is a huge crowd of people (many with luggage and/or children) looking up at the departures board, waiting for the platform assignment. There aren't enough seats for a tenth of the people waiting, so it's a huge standing crowd.
Departing from Olomouc station is a very unpleasant experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pretty easy to navigate around this train station. Just make sure you've got the right platform. Our train to Prague was 20 minutes late but all else was good. Best to reserve seats in advance too.
