The monument in the middle of the grassy area commemorates the local victims of the First World War. After 1918, 71 men, who often perished on the Eastern Front, did not return to the then still independent village outside Prague. The monument was unveiled in 1926, when Hloubětín was integrated into other districts of Prague for four years. According to the publication Dějiny Hloubětín, a box with historical documents of that time was built into it that year. At the top of the pyramid monument a carved vessel stands with an eternal flame, which is to symbolize the eternal gratitude of the soldiers for their sacrifice.
