Finally re-opened with a new owner, a country pub with a great 1920s charm. Friendly owner, good beer, worth visiting.

Nice staff in this cosy restaurant, delicious food and big portions for a good price! We will surely come back if we'd be around!

This pension is located in a small, lovely village called Machovská Lhota. And this is one of the most authentic Czech places you can find. You can get local Czech food (including Pavlisovsky řízek!) and beer among other things. The place is clean, including in the sense that the owner cares about the visual look of the place, so the signs look nicely and the furniture is beautiful. To sum this all up, it is nice place not only for stopping by on your bike ride, but definitely worth a visit from a close towns.

A very low standard restaurant for a big group of 12. We went on Saturday afternoon at 12 noon and they gave us 2 medium sized tables joined together for 12 persons. It was very uncomfortable and would sit 8 comfortably at best. Next, they never ever brought us any menus, and we had to grab it by ourselves. Later when the waitress came to take orders for our drinks, we waited quite a while, yet again. We even had to return the menus on our own. Finally, the Gulash soup came, and it did not even taste like Gulash. It tasted like some other random soup, definitely not Gulash. The waitress came back to us after about 1 hour and told us that there was no more potatoes left for 5 people in the group and it only was 1 pm on a Saturday lunch. It is not even a special holiday or dinner. Not having potatoes in my opinion in a Czech restaurant is as ridiculous as not having rice in a Thai restaurant. The first few dishes finally arrived only at 1.30 pm! We waited a good 1 hr 30 minutes for some basic foods. My grilled chicken breast with a sad ham on top tasted boring. Other dishes tasted better but still were not worth the 1 hr 30 minutes wait. Later when the waitress brought 3 dishes at once, she even spilled the sauce onto one of us, which dirtied her white sweater and the chair all over. Such untrained service is an absolute shame and should never ever happened. We only get to leave this restaurant at 3 pm because this restaurant is just too slow and shabby. We did not even get to order coffees or etc because the waitress just never ever appear. I even walked to the cashier 3 times to try to order a coffee but they were busy forever due to their own slowness or etc. I would definitely not visit this place again. I advise anyone who has normal to high standards in restaurants and foods not to visit this restaurant as this restaurant does not seem to strive to do better but only take advantage on the high volume of customers visiting that area.
