Pension Rychta Na Račánku - Žlíbek 17

Restaurant with a boarding house near the parking lot for Kašperk Castle by the road between Kašperské Hory and Strašín. We were not accommodated in the pension, so I will only evaluate the restaurant, where we went for a meal around 4 pm. You can sit on the terrace at several tables or inside the restaurant. At the time of our arrival, there were only a few tables on the terrace, inside the restaurant was empty. The staff consisted of two people. The waiter and waitresses absently walked around us to study people on the terrace, but they didn't notice us at all. We had to draw attention to ourselves several times, so after about 10 minutes from arrival we received a menu. There were 7 dishes on the menu. Although we already know that they want tourists in Šumava, but you won't have any more food in restaurants after 6 pm, so we didn't expect much food at 4 pm. At 4 pm, only one serving of pastries and strawberry dumplings was available. So we ordered these dishes. The taste of both dishes was very good, the portion was large, the price of the meals ranges between 170, - and 200, - CZK, ie such a Šumava average, otherwise quite expensive for the rest of the Czech Republic. Drinks, whether soft or alcoholic, on the other hand, are very affordable. For us, this is a restaurant with good and affordable food, but not very attentive service, moreover, not having to offer food to eat at 4 pm is a bit of a shame. You do not pay with a card here, in addition, the restaurant is confusing on its website during opening hours. On one link you will find out that they are closed on Sundays and Mondays, on another link you will find out that they are open daily except Mondays and the reality is completely different, so I add the opening hours in the form of a photo. We definitely recommend the food here, but come at noon at the latest so that they have something else and take the menu yourself :-).

Pension Rychta in Račánek Kašperské Hory is a large pension, which was created by complete reconstruction and completion of the original mountain homestead at an altitude of 830 m. It offers accommodation with parking. There is a restaurant sitting inside or outside on the nice terrace. And so also with good cuisine. Many beautiful trips around Šumava. We can recommend visiting this nice guest house.

I can only rate the restaurant, we were not accommodated. Opening hours from 11 am to 6 pm, a decent selection of ready meals, higher in price than is normal in Šumava now. We were out of season and in worse weather, so even at lunch it was relatively free, the terrace empty. The staff behaved normally, even though it was clear that they preferred a foreign-language clientele, despite the few guests, the finished meal was waited for more than half an hour (that is, minus one star). Baked potato dumplings - all standard, tasty, portions sufficient. The sirloin was weaker - the sauce was less flavored, maybe more diluted, the whipped cream spoiled the impression even at first sight (this is minus the second star), one and maybe even with the star deserves only two really nice pieces of well-prepared meat, it did not offend or inspire.
