A půdy ubývá. Nejen v Praze, ale v celé ČR. Zemědělská půda je zalesňována, masivně mizí při výstavbě měst (to jest domů), skladů, nákupních center, průmyslových závodů, silnic a železnic. Za uplynulých 90 let zmizelo zemědělské půdy v ČR 850 tisíc hektarů, tedy plocha o velikosti 17 Prah. A ještě jinak. Každý den v ČR přijdeme o osm hektarů zemědělské půdy a to je necelých deset fotbalových hřišť. Co s tím?
So I will write about something other than what occurs most often here. This office manages land in the capital. Land - it is also land. And the soil is dwindling. Not only in Prague, but in the whole Czech Republic. Agricultural land is afforested, massively disappearing during the construction of cities (ie houses), warehouses, shopping centers, industrial plants, roads and railways. Over the past 90 years, 850,000 hectares of agricultural land in the Czech Republic have disappeared, ie an area of 17 Prague. And yet differently. Every day in the Czech Republic we lose eight hectares of agricultural land and that is less than ten football fields. What with this?

The Old Town Hall is undoubtedly the largest and most significant monument to the western part of the square. It is a complex complex of four interconnected houses bought by the Old Town municipality and turned into the town hall from 1338. The first was the house of Wolflin with the original Gothic sandstone portal. In the eastern neighborhood of the oldest town house, in the years 1338-64 an almost 70-meter-high tower was built, mostly from marlstone, but also from sandstone and brick. In the years 1805-07 the gallery with a sandstone railing and columns was built on the top end. The second house of Kramář Kříž, built in the second half of the 14th century, has a beautiful Renaissance window on the front, the middle part of which is a sign of the Old Town in the tympanon from 1520-28. In the third place - Mikša´s House was acquired by the village in 1458. Its ground floor with one large and two adjacent glazed Gothic arcades is made of sandstone blocks - here is where the Tourist Information Centre is housed. The last and smallest Empire House U Kohouta was bought by the town in 1838.

This house was bought from a city merchant in 1360, as an extension of the old town hall. It stands out for its orange color and its Renaissance window added in 1526, on the pediment of which is written the phrase: "PRAGA CAPUT REGNI" which translated comes to mean "PRAGUE CAPITAL OF THE KINGDOM". It is currently the headquarters of the Tourist Office.
