The U parku nature reserve was originally declared by the former Ministry of Culture of the Czechoslovak Republic on 14 March 1955 as a state nature reserve on an area of ​​4.43 ha, with the adoption of the Nature Protection Act by the Czech National Council (Act No. 114/1992 Coll. On Nature Protection and landscape) was included with effect from 1 June 1992 in the category of nature reserves (hereinafter referred to as PR) within the specially protected areas of the Czech Republic. PR is situated on a south-facing slope and a slightly sloping plateau below it, it is forested over the entire area, the woody plants form part of extensive forests in the vicinity of Vysoké Chvojno. The Agency for Nature and Landscape Protection of the Czech Republic maintains PR in the Central List of Nature Protection under code 467. In the territorial delimitation of the nature reserve, there is a discrepancy between the stated area of ​​forest land at the first declaration of the nature reserve (4.43 ha) and the actual area on the map (3.86 ha) determined using digital technologies. This is mentioned in the Nature Reserve Management Plan prepared by the Nature Conservation Center in 2012 for the period up to 2022. The nature reserve presents forest communities, especially beeches and Hercynian oak-hornbeams with the occurrence of protected and endangered plant species, such as honeysuckle or blue-violet honeysuckle. When promulgated in 1955, the protection of the marl side below the current arboretum with significant thermophilic flora was mentioned. Locally, the locality is also called Práchensko, after the name of the forest area of ​​the same name south of the specially protected area or Práchenská stráň. The nature reserve is managed by the Department of Nature Protection, Department of the Environment and Agriculture of the Regional Office of the Pardubice Region. The nature reserve is located over the entire area in the geomorphological district Vysokochvojenská plateau in the Orlické panel natural area (geomorph. Whole), altitude ranges from about 276 on the southern edge of a specially protected area to 311 m at the northern border with an arboretum forming an interesting botanical garden with many trees (see map). If someone chooses the Zámeček complex as a starting point (guest house, restaurant, zoo - game park with a large game), you can walk through the forest path through the nature reserve and turn left along the Viselce nature trail and return through the arboretum and connecting path at the edge of the nature reserve to the starting point. point.
