★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A really beautiful location and a lot of honest work done to turn the place into a cozy, attractive inn. It's clean, the service is friendly and fast. Prices vary from 'OK' to 'really, here?' The draw down is an air of amateurism. Food is somewhere between your ordinary home cuisine and an attempt to look fancy. Interior design also hangs between 'my mom did it' and 'Austrian hoch kitsch'. Perhaps the streaming into clearly one or the other would do the trick, but overall over of the best accommodations and restaurants in the vicinity of Karlstein.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped off here for dinner on way to Beroun. We've passed this place a few times, but not had time to stop. However, on this occasion we were able to stop.
A nice surprise it was too - at the rear of the property there was a nice seating area, with childrens play area. For those who want a quieter atmosphere , there was also outdoor seating at the front of the property with lovely views. However, we opted to go inside.
The place looked clean and fresh, with bright floral patterned tables etc. Quite reminicent of an old English tea room.
BUT - the food was no way tea room. This was a good menu to choose from and our meals were cooked perfectly. All this added up to great service, great food, great value and great atmosphere.
Prices were average for Czech- but value for money made this a really good place.
It is not far from Karlstejn, so if you are visiting this area, it is well worth a detour.
Will certainly be back- and with the grand kids too.?
