We visited the café and restaurant in the second half of July 2020. Unfortunately, there is not much (open) to choose from in Kouřim. I am amazed by the prevailing positive evaluations of the company. We were not satisfied. I don't know if it was a bad day for Mr. Schlupek Sr., who served us. His behavior was very unprofessional, I would say arrogant, and even at the next table he was teaching haughty and rude senior couple. This is how the staff should definitely not treat guests. A little humility and decency would not hurt. In addition, he was dressed as if he had just jumped from a tennis match. The food did not inspire or offend, so at the level of today's decent races, the portions are rather smaller, I vaguely remember the last time I saw smaller, but prices corresponding to a quality Prague restaurant in the center, where you go for lunch, find and enjoy. What surprised me the most was that the owner issued us a receipt without EET, although he is certainly obliged. The sympathetic Mr. Schlupek Jr. behaved very decently and overall his approach to guests contrasted sharply with the behavior of Mr. Schlupek the Elder, who would do better if he took care of the background of the pension and did not interfere with the operation of the restaurant and cafe.

I am glad that we have such a beautiful place in Kouřim, where it is possible to eat and drink well. We return happily and often. The restaurant is perfectly located, right in the middle of the square, cooked from local ingredients, without unnecessary flavorings and substitutes, the food was always tasty and the selection sufficient. Don't look for a multi-page menu, they have a simple but varied menu from classics to very non-traditional dishes. And it never happened to us that we didn't enjoy it. Desserts are just a nice icing on the cake. We look forward to next time :)

Absolutely appalling quality of food, for 160 CZK I ordered a skewer piri piri, what came to me made me very laugh :) Instead of a skewer with vegetables, a poor 3 pieces of chicken came on a stick without any vegetables .. the chef sliced ​​half a tomato there ... k that tortilla that was as hard as a shot. I do not recommend

Delicious food, great beer and a great owner. I do not understand negative reviews. This is probably written by managers from corporate companies who have their entire lives on credit. Whereas the boss knows what life is about.
